Job description
We need a Senior Field Agronomy Specialist who likes being in the field. You will diagnose crop and soil problems, coach growers, and put regenerative practice on acres that have to pay.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct field assessments for crop health, soil conditions, and agronomic risk
- Design and recommend regenerative and climate-smart practice packages for partner farms
- Train and mentor field officers and farmer groups on best practices
- Collect, quality-check, and interpret agronomic data to inform program decisions
- Collaborate with certification, irrigation, and supply-chain teams on integrated solutions
- Document case studies, lessons learned, and seasonal performance reviews
- Support demonstration plots and on-farm trials that validate new approaches
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related field
- 5+ years of field agronomy experience with commercial or smallholder systems
- Strong diagnostic skills for pests, diseases, nutrient stress, and soil constraints
- Proven ability to engage farmers with clear, practical recommendations
- Familiarity with regenerative agriculture and climate-resilient cropping systems
- Competence with field data collection tools and basic analysis
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region
